Our traditional Friday 5:30 PM Pender Harbour boat parade is on August 8. A lot of wooden classic boats have indicated an interest but everyone is invited and very welcome, it will be a lot of fun. Parade Lead boat is the Ocean Bell, a 53’ Ocean Alexander. It will have our pipers on board. RCM SAR is tail end, emergency tow and judge of best decorated: Friday parade – muster at 5:00 PM and then join at skippers’ discretion between lead and SAR starting at 5:30. Should monitor channel 6.
All participants are requested to fly a Canadian flag and there will be a prize for best decorated boat (Raincoast Chronicles, mamala goes fishing, Harbour publishing). We ask that boats participating in the parade at a minimum fly our Canadian Flag, but we encourage everyone to do better so they can have bragging rights or maybe even win the prize. Leonard Lee, your area A rep, will be there with his white 26’ tolley all dressed up so you need to see if you can do better than him (PS he is not allowed to win the prize, but has purchased more stuff to hang up.
